National Development Programme

The National Development Programme is a three-year initiative, through which Revolving Doors Agency aims to establish a national network of projects that meet the needs of and empower people caught in the cycle of crisis, crime and mental health problems to transform their lives.

The NDP is a development process designed specifically to contend with the challenges of working with the target group as outlined here. The process has been broken down into three stages, lasting approximately one year each:

  1. Analysis

  2. Pilot

  3. Learning, dissemination and mainstreaming

See here for details of the Phases of the National Development Programme.

The programme aims to establish at least one support service for the target group in every English region and Wales by 2010. The NDP is currently running seven pilots in England and one in Wales – at various stages of development.
