Building on learning from our research and development work, especially our National Development Programme (NDP), with lessons from others working in the field, SPARK aims to:

  1. Increase the number and quality of local responses to people in the 'revolving doors' group by working with local leaders
  2. Make the case to national policy makers for a coordinated national policy response for people in repeat contact with the criminal justice system who have multiple unmet needs.

The project will do this through:

Throughout the course of the project and beyond, we hope that this website proves to be a valuable resource for both local leaders and national policymakers.

As they are developed, you will be able to download for free a range of resources including tools and information packs. We hope that these will provide you with guidance to help you better understand the health and social care needs of the 'revolving doors' group in your area, and will also highlight best practice examples in meeting these needs.

Tell us if there is a resource which would help you in your work with peoeple in the 'revolving doors' group by contacting us

You can now use our interactive map of services.  Following our call for evidence on best practice services and multi-agency partnership arrangements, we have mapped a wide range of projects that support the'revolving doors' group.  You can use this feature to search for a service in a specific locality, and we also hope, as a resource to gain a more informed understanding of the provision in your area. We are very grateful to all of those who have provided us with the information to do this, and are keen to receive your continued assistance with this. Please do let us know if you are aware of any further services that you believe should be included, by contacting us here.

We will be keeping you updated with coverage of SPARK activities and future events in your area in our News and Events section.  During the course of the project we hope to bring together key stakeholders to offer support and opportunities to lerarn and share good practice.  We will be advertising these events over the coming months, so please do check back here regularly to find out about these as they develop. In the meantime, you can read about, and listen to audio presentations from our recent Community Safety and Mental Health conference, run in partnership with the Local Governement Association.

Please contact us if you are interested in being kept up to date on SPARK.
