Financial Analysis Model
Revolving Doors Agency has developed a Financial Analysis Model with support from the Department of Health which assesses the potential savings of partnership projects providing holistic support to people with multiple needs at different points of the criminal justice system e.g. Link Worker schemes, the Warrington service or the HMP Lewes project.
The model aims to:
- Reflect what happens to real people - so service user involvement is vital
- Recognize that people move from one situation to another and people's situations may deteriorate without help
- Look at the full range of costs of the situations people find themselves in
- Identify the savings from effective interventions.
A presentation setting out the basic elements of our approach is available here.
Counting the Cost: Women-specific Financial Analysis Model
In 2011 we received support from the Corston Independent Funders' Coalition to develop a version of the model reflecting the experience of women with mutliple needs in contact with the criminal justice system.
You can download the report Counting the Cost here. The report shows that an investment of £18 million per year in women’s centres could save the public purse almost £1 billion over five years.
This presentation from the launch of the report provides a summary of the work.
Please contact us if you would like any further information about the model.
