Improving Health, Supporting Justice: Consultation Response (March 2008):

In March 2008, Revolving Doors Agency, P3 and the Elmore Team submitted a joint response to the Government's consultation document, Improving Health, Supporting Justice. The response reflects the views of three specialist mental health and criminal justice charities, working across England and Wales. It covers issues relating to the needs of people with common mental health and multiple needs at all points of the criminal justice system and addresses the resultant impact of failing to address these needs on the wider social inclusion of this group.

Same Difference? (2007)

'Same Difference?' captures Revolving Doors Agency's analysis of the organisation's development and replication process. With support from the Baring Foundation, Revolving Doors Agency presented 'Same Difference?' to the Association of Charitable Funders' seminar on replication in November 2007.

HMP Lewes Needs Assessment (2007)

Commissioned by HMP Lewes, the needs assessment investigates the availability of support for people who have either a personality disorder or multiple complex needs who leave HMP Lewes and return to The City of Brighton and Hove.

Prisons: Britain's 'Social Dustbins'

Revolving Doors Agency launched a briefing paper, entitled 'Prisons: Britain's Social Dustbins', at fringe events at the liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative Party Conferences (Autumn 2007). The events were held jointly with the Sainsbury's Centre for Mental Health and focused on how funds, currently expended on processing people with unmet mental health needs through the criminal justice system, could be reinvested in community-based services that could tighten the gaps in the safety net of health and social care services.

Safer Neighbourhood Teams in the London Borough of Islington (2007)

As part of the Developmental Phase of the pilot Neighbourhood Link Worker Scheme in the London Borough of Islington, Revolving Doors Agency and the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health conducted an assessment of the needs of people with mental problems in contact with the Metropolitan Police's Safer Neighbourhood Teams in the London Borough of Islington.

Working With Complexity: Meeting the Resettlement Needs of Women at HMP Styal (2007)

This report is the result of action research conducted by two researchers within Styal prison examining a range of needs women face when leaving prison, focusing particularly on housing, mental health, substance misuse and relationships.

Revolving Doors Agency: Strategic Plan 2010

Revolving Doors Agency launched its 2010 Strategic Plan on 24th January at a discussion event hosted by the Baring Foundation on the impact of the Government's Action plan on Social Exclusion, 'Reaching Out'. Building on the momentum of the Action Plan, the Strategic Plan will significantly increase the scale and impact of the organisation's work. Bringing together service development, research and campaigning initiatives, the Agency announced three new programmes:

Early Interventions (2006)

Commissioned by Health and Offender Partnerships, this report explores the current mechanisms to identify and address mental health problems at the earliest opportunity for those coming into contact with criminal justice agencies.
