Young People's Forum

The national Young People's Forum is an opportunity for young people (18 to 28 yrs) with direct experience of mental health and other problems and experience of the criminal justice system to come together and help us to influence policy and design and improve services. The young people who are members of this Forum come from a range of relevant backgrounds and organisations and from different areas of the country.  (Click here for membership criteria).

Forum members get involved in activities such as research, policy consultations, delivering training, contributing to conferences and raising awareness of the issues they face. (Click here to find out more about Forum activities).  We welcome enquiries from policy makers and organisations working in the areas of criminal justice, homelessness, mental health or drugs and alcohol who are interested in consulting or involving our Service User Forum members.

We provide opportunities for Forum members to participate in training courses such as Training to Train, Research Skills, Media Skills and others, to support their personal development and effective involvement in the Forum.

Young People’s Forum meetings for people aged between 18 and 28 years are held 4 times a year.  The next meetings are on  01 July 2011, 07 October 2011 and 06 January 2012.
