Involvement

Those who have suffered the crisis-and-crime cycle of the revolving door are our Experts by Experience By working together with us, they become people who have the power to change systems.

The Involvement Team’s role is to enable lived experience insight to build a smarter criminal justice system.

Our members have lived experience of repeat contact with the criminal justice system that is related to issues such as poor mental health, substance use or alcohol dependency and homelessness. We believe in the power of lived experience to drive change.

We are ambitious for our members, provide training, and support progression. Involvement with us is a stepping stone to greater things!

Our aim is to enable people with lived experience of the criminal justice system and multiple disadvantage to influence decision makers at the highest level to create better systems and services.

We achieve this through a variety of Regional Lived Experience Forums, our Women’s Forum and specialist teams focusing on service design and commissioning with the NHS or bespoke projects with the MOJ or HMPPS.

Our lived experience members bring passion, insight and honesty and are trained as researchers and facilitators so we can capture wider representative views.
